Cellcard 6-Time Champion

Cellcard wins its 6th award as Asia’s Best Employer Brand.

From 2012 to 2017, the Kingdom’s only 100% Cambodian-owned telco continues to be recognized as one of the region’s top companies of choice to work for.

It’s most recent award as Best Employer Brand was received yesterday by Mr. Sopheak Nguon, Employee Services Manager at the 8th Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards 2017, held at the Le Meridien Singapore in Sentosa Island.

To top off their win, Cellcard also receives the Fun at Work award for the second year running in the “Dream Companies to Work for” category.

Both awards are a testament to the telco’s continuous commitment to create a work environment and culture that emphasizes people development, career growth, skill enhancement, and, of course, fun.

CEO Ian Watson said being recognized for the sixth consecutive year as among the most sought-after employers was a validation of the company’s efforts to raise the bar of human capital management in Cambodia by adhering to international standard practices.

“We place the same degree of focus, commitment and details to create a positive employer brand experience as we do our customer brand experience. We also continuously cultivate better HR practices, ethics and values to ensure we provide an environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and learning for our employees” he said.

Nicky Enriquez, Cellcard’s Chief People Officer, adds that the Fun at Work award proved that having a High Performance Culture was not all about being serious and straight-laced.

“We would like our people to be excited about getting to work every morning; to look forward to getting the job done because they know it’s going to be fun. Value creation is the bottom-line. At Cellcard, we believe that people who enjoy what they do are fully engaged and contribute the most.” she said.

“Fun & success go hand in hand as we see from great workplaces all over the world,” continued Enriquez, adding that Cellcard champions a healthy work-life balance. “Our Fun at Work Roadmap is as important to us as our Performance Dashboard. In fact, Fun at Work is part of our KPI. There are demonstrated benefits of a positive work environment and Cellcard sees this.” Cellcard has “break rooms”, spaces in the office where staff can play table tennis or other company-hosted stress relief activities.  The Employee Communities within Cellcard are built around adding value in a fun way. To encourage healthy competition, Cellcard also holds regular activities for its employees such as, as Family Day, Sports Day, Football Matches, to name a few.

The two awards follow Cellcard being named the country’s fastest mobile network for the first two quarters of 2017 by Ookla, the dominant global leader in internet performance testing and metrics. The telco also claimed the title of Cambodia’s Most Reliable Telecom Operator 2017 at a recent regional 4G LTE conference held in Phnom Penh.

Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards, which recognises organisations who have excelled in building their employer brand, is hosted annually by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress and Stars of the Industry Group. Endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses, this year’s event attracted more than a hundred business leaders from across the region. Other notable winners are Wing, Ezecom, Cambodia Airports, Japan Airlines, American Airlines, Disneyland Hong Kong, Pfizer Malaysia, Coca Cola Malaysia, Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong, Telekom Malaysia, Smart Philippines.
