Cellcard has launched the Cellcard Free Data Distance Education Program’ to support MoEYS – MPTC for the ‘Distance Education Application

Cellcard is pleased to announce today that it has launched a ‘Cellcard Free Data Distance Education Program’ to promote and support the MoEYS – MPTC jointly developed ‘Distance Education Application’. Using the ‘Cellcard Free Data Distance Education Program’ all students and teachers using Cellcard connections in the Kingdom of Cambodia can enjoy hassle- and cost-free access to the Distance Education App every day between 6.00AM to 11.00AM.

The Distance Education Application, launched today (15th July 2020) by MoEYS and MPTC will provide essential digital and distance education to Cambodian students. Under the agreement, Cellcard will be providing free data access to the new ‘Distance Education App’ which has been jointly developed by the MoEYS and MPTC in a bid to maintain education standards during forced school closures in the Kingdom of Cambodia due to COVID-19.

The collaboration and guidance provided by the leaders of both MPTC and MoEYS together with Cellcard’s experts have resulted in the successful development of this eLearning smartphone application which will go a long way in ensuring the Cambodian youth stay engaged and receive high standards of distance learning.

By using the ‘Cellcard Free Data Distance Education Program’, all students and teachers using Cellcard connections in the Kingdom of Cambodia can enjoy hassle and cost-free daily access to the ‘Distance Education app between 6AM -11 AM.

Cellcard Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ian Watson, said: “This is a great innovative program for Cellcard to support the government in its efforts to keep students learning during this time.

“As the proudly Khmer operator we want students to know we are there for them and support them in their studies and future careers.”

The main goal will be to ensure that e-education services reach all students in the Kingdom and that Cambodia will reduce the digital dividend as much as possible. Therefore students can access the digital content from the “Distance Education” app for free with Cellcard.
