American multinational chain of convenience stores, Circle K, signs an exclusive distributor agreement with Cellcard

Published Date: October, Tuesday 30, 2018

The partnership authorises Circle K to distribute Cellcard SIM cards as well as allow Circle K to take part in some of Cellcard’s digital campaigns to aid in increasing awareness for the franchise.

“We are happy to partner with Cellcard. We feel that Cellcard is the perfect fit for the Circle K brand. Cellcard’s local ownership and commitment to uplifting and providing Cambodians with access, together with its growing international recognition as a network leader is something that we would like to be part of as a new comer in Cambodia.” — Circle K Representative

Circle K which opened its first outlet in Phnom Penh’s bustling Toul Kork district earlier this year has now successfully expanded to 15 stores in Phnom Penh with its most successful store located within walking distance of one of Cambodia’s premier educational establishments, RUPP. The franchise’s expansion plans plot 40 store openings in Phnom Penh alone within the next few months, and includes plans to open outlets in the country’s tourist destinations Siem Reap and Sihanoukville as well.

“Expanding our distribution network is something that we are working on. Together with our 4G expansion initiative, making sure that our products are within customer’s reach and ideally within walking distance of where they live and work is of utmost importance. While we have a substantial amount of non-exclusive dealers in our network, we are also forging partnerships with the growing number of convenience stores, which are quickly becoming the place to be for students and the working class. This partnership is therefore in line with our objectives of creating more relevance among the youth segment. We look forward to supporting Circle K and working with them to meet mutual objectives.” – Ian Watson Cellcard CEO
