How to register

• Registering is done over the air from your mobile phone. Simply select ‘new message’, type BD, leave a space and then enter your preferred password for the service. The password must be a minimum of 4 characters.
  
  For example: [BD][Space][9576] (example only – choose your own password)
  
  
• Then send the message to 669. You will receive a confirmation SMS.

How it works

Whenever you backup phone data, it’s sent to a secure website that you can access any time with your password. This backed-up data can be downloaded to your phone over the air.

With Cellcard Backup Service you’re in control, with a range of options that allow you to choose which data you backup and when. The simplest option is to Synchronise your phone with Backup Service, which will mean that your entire Address Book are backed-up. Alternatively, you can choose to backup data - such as individual phone numbers, photos and text messages – one at a time.

Any data you backup will be assigned a unique Index Number, making it easy to retrieve.

Synchronise

Synchronise is the quick and easy option that’ll mean you instantly have your current Address Book backed-up. After you Synchronise, you can choose to backup your new numbers one by one or Synchronise on a regular basis.

To synchronise your phone with Cellcard Backup Service: type SYN, leave a space, enter your phone brand and send to 669.

For example: [SYN][Space][NokiaN73] (example only)

You will receive a reply with a configuration message. Save this configuration message and then select the “Synchronise” icon in your phone menu. Then choose “Cellcard Backup Service” to start the synchronisation process.

Back-up Individual Numbers

If you’ve backed-up an important phone number and you need to retrieve it, you can send a text requesting its index number. With this index number you can retrieve the phone number.

Select ‘new message’ and follow these instructions:

• To backup a contact: type ADDC, leave a space, enter the name of the contact, leave another space and then enter their phone number. Send to 669
• To receive the index numbers of your backed-up contacts: type LISTC, leave a space, then enter the name of your contact (or their initials) and send to 669
• To download your backed-up contacts as Text: type GETC, leave a space, then enter the index number/s you want to retrieve and send to 669
• To download your backed-up contacts as Vcard: type GETV and follow the same instructions as above

Backup an SMS

Backing up and downloading text messages works in the same way as phone numbers. Select ‘new message’ and follow these instructions:

• To backup your SMS: type ADDS, leave a space, enter the sender’s name or number, leave another space and then insert the actual message. Send to 669
• To receive their index numbers: type LISTS, leave a space, enter the sender’s name or number and send to 669
• To download a backed-up SMS: type GETS, leave a space, then enter the index number/s and send to 669
• To delete a backed-up SMS: type DELS, enter the index number and send to 669

Backup an MMS

Simply select the data you wish to backup – such as a photo - and MMS it to 669. If you ever wish to view or download the MMS from your phone, you can use Mobile Internet to visit http://bd.cellcard.com.kh/mobile.

To view or download your MMS from a computer, visit http://bd.cellcard.com.kh, go to the Backup Service section and you’ll find further instructions there.

• To receive a full list of the Backup Service commands: text HELP to 669
• To get your account information: text INFO to 669
• To cancel your registration to Backup Service: type BD, leave a space, then type OFF and send to 669. Your account will be deleted in 15 days.
• If you wish to re-activate your account within 15 days of cancellation, type BD, leave a space, then type ON and send to 669
• If you forget your password, text PWD to 669
• To restore a backed-up contact you’ve just accidentally deleted: type REDO and text to 669. Then follow the instructions you’ll receive by SMS
